Starbuck - frakin' booze...

Kara and her fraking booze.... to say it with Kat's words "We don't need another Tigh on this ship!".

I love the character of Starbuck very much and especially the passionate, sometimes painfully really way the amazing Katee Sackhoff plays her part. Starbuck is funny, ruthless and seems amazingly strong, but often she cannot cope with anything... when she gives in to too much of the alcohol you see again what a problematic, hugely broken girl she is inside.
Some part of me understands her although I could never act like Kara (and mostly, it's better that way) and that part of me had the upperhand when I drew the picture...

I wanted to capture Kara's "Oh frak you all!" mood when she deep down know her behaviour just destroys her surrounding and even more herself...

All the way, I listened to different songs I associate with Kara (even created my own little "nothing but the rain" playlist on iTunes), Pink's "Numb" (PINK is sooo Kara), "9 Crimes" - Damien Rice, "Not ready to make nice" - The Dixie Chicks and all the astonishing music by Bear McCreary.
And thanks to all the fan vidders on youtube who got me the ideas for the songs and brought me in the right mood to draw the picture that I found incredible intense to do altough it's "just" a pencil drawing...

Medium: Pencil 5H, HB and 6B on sketch paper. Blue pencil too.

Time: All evening and a bit of the following morning (and yes, I slept in between!)
